Greater Oudtshoorn Spatial Development Framework

The latest "Greater Oudtshoorn Spatial Development Framework" document was produced in 2015.  It covers a wide range of topics and the full document is available on the Oudtshoorn Municipal website www.oudtshoorn.gov.za under documents.  We believe this is a sound framework off which to build and develop further strategies for the future - it does however, include a number of required modifications in terms of changed circumstances in both of De Rust , the Western Cape and South Africa as a whole since it was written in 2015.  

 

We have however, selected a full range of pages from the document including maps which lay out the location of the Village both within the regional and municipal context as well as illustrating a number of the "key areas". • It is important to note that  this document would normally be updated on a five yearly basis so the next update should come due in 2020
• There are aspects of the 2015 Report that are open to further debate in terms of some of the assumptions made by the consultants to the Municipality prior to any updating 
• Stakeholder  involvement is critical and it is suggested that more information is required prior to any new decisions being taken by the Oudtshoorn Municipality
